Spearheaded by the national disaster risk reduction and management council in partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd) it aims to train students and teachers on how to respond to an actual earthquake.
One must carry out drills to take life-fending actions like emergency evacuation and or first aid. These drills portray potential structural casualty and human injury. Plans must be clear and is exercised periodically to learn measures and refresh practices and secure one’s safety.
These plans are to counter the scenario the ‘’The Big One’’ if it hits Metro Manilla and nearby provinces.
Continuing the conduct of drills will ensure least Filipino casualty against the threat of an incoming earthquake. Schools ring earthquake warnings as reminder to an immediate apply of ‘’duck, cover and hold. Household near sea shores take immediate precaution and evacuate before a tsunami hits. Everyone must cooperate for the sake of their lives and the lives of others in case any disasters strike.
